DeRozan & Lowry: All-Star Bound?

Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey is pushing for both DeMar DeRozan & Kyle Lowry to be All-Stars this year. Both DeMar & Lowry are putting up career numbers and have the Raptors sitting at 4th in the Eastern Conference. Casey is reaching out to friends and colleagues among the NBA coaching ranks pushing for Lowry & DeRozan, stating that they deserve to be All-Stars. DeRozan has silenced critics by proving that he is not just a high volume shooter but has shown that he is an efficient scorer and Lowry has shown tremendous leadership and is playing like one of the best point guards in the East. The Raptors deserve to have at least one All-Star as they have shocked the league with their play. They sit a top the Atlantic Division and are 4th in the conference just barley behind Atlanta for that 3rd seed.  The fans will select the starters which is announced on January 23rd and the coaches will select the 7 reserves which will be announced on January 30th.

I agree with this article. I think the Raptors deserve at least one All-Star and consideration for the player that fails to make it. Despite trading their star player a few weeks ago Lowry & DeRozan have the Raptors playing like one of the best teams in the NBA as of late. All eyes have been on Toronto as they have been able to pick up huge wins against the Thunder and Pacers and have beaten multiple teams in playoff contention. Both DeRozan & Lowry are having career years and they both deserve All-Star consideration.

  1. I agree as well...unless they take all heat and pacers (which is stupid IMO, but NBA always puts more all-stars from winning teams).

However, do you think it's good for the Raps if Lowry is deemed an All-Star? Positive or negative?

  2. I agree. DeRozan should be an All-Star. he deserves it. he's playing at a high level right now and it'll be a true honour for not just DeRozan, but for his fans as well, if he becomes an All-Star.
